Oil 12" x 14" on cradled panel. This painting is no longer available for sale. [The painting's colors are bright, but the photo toned the image up some, more so than in life.]
The remains of this house are on the corner of South Louisiana and West 13th Street in Little Rock (see the image below). I think someone may actually be renovating the house, but progress is extremely slow (hardly any progress over the last six years I've been watching them). It's a great house, I hope the succeed in finishing it one day.

Hello, I like your work, and appreciate the failed aspect of most art. I also read with interest your mention of wiping down some of your paintings... i would like to know if that is still a recurring temptation for you? I used to battle that quite a bit in my painting...
Thanks,
Mike

Hello Mike,
Thanks!
Yes, I am still wiping down a good number of my paintings, though most of them are what I would consider sketches.
Having said that, I did just wipe down two larger pieces. After a good bit of thought about it, I decided that they ended up dying because I'd been lazy on the front end of things. I hadn't done enough prep-work and the composition suffered a great deal because of it. I'm hoping to work on this. If I am sucessful, by the time I start a larger, finished work it will be pretty well figured out before I begin.
It's been awhile since I checked in on your painting--damn, it's good stuff! I love the soul-sucking fascinating dark empty window here...we know what happens when we go inside those, yet we cannot resist!
Hello Brenda, thanks!
And of course you are right - LOOK AWAY FROM THE WINDOW AND RUNAWAY!
John this house belongs to me. Yes, it has taken forever but it is coming together-you are one of many people that find it (house) interesting enough to paint it. The words 'the remains" kinda hurt but I understand. Thank you for your final words of support.

well it is nice of you to "watch," but perhaps you might offer to help actually paint the place. the house is a wonderful labor of love and is by know means derelict. your painting is lovely but your comments about the house are inconsequential.
